Benjamin Britten’s Comic Opera “Albert Herring” a Coming-Of-Age Story at the Princeton Festival
A reluctant May King, a meddling mother, refreshing libations, and liberation combine for a hilarious coming-of-age story.
Sung in English and partly set in an English country garden, Benjamin Britten's comic opera “Albert Herring” opera is ideally suited to take center stage under the 10,000 square-foot performance tent on the grounds of Morven Museum & Garden. The Princeton Symphony Orchestra presents Albert Herring on June 17 and 19 at 7 pm at this year's Princeton Festival.
The cast hails from the US and Europe and is performing alongside local talent from Westminster Choir College and Westrick Music Academy. Princeton Symphony Orchestra Music Director Rossen Milanov conducts. We spoke to Milanov and Lewis Jacobson Wasden from the Princeton Boys Choir who plays Harry.
