Growing and Glowing

  • Grounds for Sculpture 80 Sculptors Way Hamilton Township, NJ, 08619 United States (map)

Each month Grounds For Sculpture partners with the preschool at Millhill Child & Family Development to bring art-based activities for 3- to 5-year-old students to their classrooms. Visits include being introduced to artists like Faith Ringold and Eric Carle, reading stories to make connections, then creating a work of art based on what has been explored. This year themes were centered around curriculum-based topics such as the seasons, celebrations, insects, and more. As each month went by, we watched the students grow and glow as their fine motor skills increased, their vocabulary expanded, and they discovered new ways to connect to art. We are excited to share the light that each little artist projects in their artwork and beyond in this exhibit.

Grounds For Sculpture has had a long-standing relationship with Millhill, collaborating since 2015 on a variety of projects. We are proud to call them our community partner. Thank you to the staff, parents, and especially the young artists and their amazing teachers at Millhill Child & Family Development.

Millhill Child and Family Development was established in 1971 as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization serving abused and neglected children in Trenton, NJ.
