West Jersey Chamber Music Society

The West Jersey Chamber Music Society (WJCMS) is a professional choir and orchestra committed to producing chamber music concerts of the highest quality that are easily accessible to residents and visitors to Southern New Jersey.

WJCMS produces affordable, accessible classical music concerts of the highest quality, performed in a local setting; to develop and nurture an audience of music lovers, those new to music, and children; and to enhance the quality of life in the community through the uplifting and inspiring power of music.

The organization was founded by Joel Krott and a group of patrons in 1980 as Musica Sacra. It was created as a nonprofit corporation dedicated to producing professional choral and orchestral concerts for the Moorestown community.
In 1988, Mr. Krott and the board chose to broaden the activities and reach of the organization, changing its name to the West Jersey Chamber Music Society (WJCMS) and implementing a mission that more fully addresses its contribution to the community of residents, patrons, students, and musicians.

Each year WJCMS presents a concert season of European and American classical music. Included in each year’s schedule are a holiday concert, a Conversation Piece program featuring music and commentary, and often, a grand production that includes the West Jersey Chamber Orchestra and Chorus.
