Tuckerton Seaport (Barnegat Bay Decoy & Baymen's Museum)

Tuckerton Seaport offers a captivating journey into the maritime history, artistry, heritage, and environment of the Jersey Shore. Nestled along historic Tuckerton Creek, this 40-acre maritime village invites you to immerse yourself in the rich traditions and vibrant culture of the baymen.

Easily accessible from the Garden State Parkway, Tuckerton Seaport serves as a cultural hub, bringing folklife traditions to life through engaging programs on both land and water. Visitors of all ages can enjoy climbing the lighthouse, making crafts, touring museum exhibits, and exploring the nature trail. The site features 17 historic and recreated buildings connected by a scenic boardwalk, a maritime forest, wetlands nature trail, and various interactive displays. Highlights include a working boatworks building, a decoy gallery, houseboats, and the recreated Tucker’s Island Lighthouse.

The Jersey Shore Folklife Center at Tuckerton Seaport is dedicated to amplifying community voices and celebrating the diverse traditions of Barnegat Bay and the Pinelands. Through daily demonstrations and traditional arts, the Folklife Center captures the creative spirit and rich occupational and recreational folklife of the region.
