Trenton Education Dance Institute (TEDI)
Trenton Education Dance Institute (TEDI) is a program of The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey which is dedicated to nurturing children, safeguarding them from harm, and empowering parents with better parenting skills.
Trenton Education Dance Institute (TEDI) brings transformative dance instruction to Trenton elementary schools, fostering confidence, resilience, cognitive and physical skills, and teamwork. Supported by The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey, TEDI delivers life-changing outcomes through its innovative programs.
As a member of the Association of National Dance Institutes, TEDI utilizes professional artists and a unique blend of dance, performance, and educational materials to impart essential life skills such as self-discipline, teamwork, concentration, cooperation, confidence, and personal achievement. These programs bridge social, ethnic, and economic divides, reaching children with physical and emotional challenges.
TEDI’s curriculum enhances cognitive and physical abilities while boosting self-esteem and executive function skills. Programs include weekly in-school classes for fifth graders, "First Team" classes for kindergarteners, the after-school SWAT Team program for selected fifth graders, the Celebration Team Scholarship Program for sixth to tenth graders, and the TEDI Alumni Association for graduates.
In May, TEDI showcases its Event of the Year with live performances for schools, families, and the community. The Trenton Education Dance Institute ensures a welcoming and accessible environment for all students and patrons, making the arts inclusive and enjoyable for everyone. Join us and be part of this inspiring journey.
