The INSPIRED MINDS and INSPIRING MINDS art exhibits provide emerging artists with professional gallery experiences, celebrating young artists from Essex County high schools.

SOPAC collaborates with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts to host the Region 5 Poetry Out Loud competitions, a national program encouraging the study of great poetry and helping students develop public speaking skills, self-confidence, and literary knowledge. Additionally, SOPAC offers Arts Residencies for students, including the Classical Music and Strings Residency and the South Orange Middle School Jazz Ensemble.

The Classical Music Strings Residency has seen remarkable growth, with the number of students served increasing significantly and students achieving high scores in state competitions. SOPAC's Jazz Ensemble program allows middle school students to meet, learn, and play with professional jazz musicians.

The dance residencies, in partnership with the Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation, offer students in the South Orange and Maplewood School District a chance to learn dance through a comprehensive program, culminating in performances that celebrate their achievements.
