South Jersey Cultural Alliance
For almost 35 years, the South Jersey Cultural Alliance (SJCA) has been the leading voice and connector for South Jersey’s vibrant arts and cultural community. Founded to address inequities in funding and resources for the southern counties, SJCA has evolved into a dynamic service organization with a resource and information hub that empowers our membership of artists, organizations, tradition bearers, and creative professionals across the region.
Today, SJCA is a member organization for cultural professionals, creatives, and organizations working in arts and history. SJCA promotes arts and history by building connections, encouraging engagement, and gathering cultural sector data that helps assess the impact of the arts on our region and beyond. We operate cooperative marketing programs aimed at expanding the reach of smaller organizations and promoting cultural tourism initiatives through our digital platforms, including the South Jersey Cultural Asset Map and our mobile application. Additionally, we offer professional development opportunities to enhance skills throughout South Jersey. In collaboration with our statewide partners, we engage in collective advocacy for the region, working to ensure that every citizen understands and has access to the arts and culture in New Jersey. Through these efforts, we amplify the voices of all communities in South Jersey and strive to ensure that our region's arts sector thrives.
Our signature project, the South Jersey Cultural Asset Map (SJ CAMP), is a powerful, interactive directory that showcases nearly 1,000 cultural assets. It makes it easier than ever for artists, patrons, educators, and visitors to discover and connect with South Jersey’s creative landscape.
