Shea Center for Performing Arts
The Shea Center for Performing Arts is an intimate 922-seat theater that hosts the William Paterson University’s “WP Presents” series of high caliber touring artists across a range of disciplines, including acoustic and world music, contemporary folk music, theatre, dance, family programming, and other eclectic fare.
Its Jazz Room Series encompasses the complete spectrum of jazz, from New Orleans to the avant-garde, and features world-class professionals and William Paterson student ensembles. There are three series of concerts each year, including the six-concert Fall and Spring Jazz Room Series, and the weeklong Summer Jazz Room held the third week of July.
Its Distinguished Lecturer Series offers an exciting lineup of speakers who address topical issues ranging from the arts and culture to sports and politics, fostering a unique connection between the speakers and the audience.
