Rowan University Art Gallery & Museum

Rowan University Art Gallery & Museum serves as a vibrant cultural destination for South Jersey, the Rowan community, and surrounding region. We are committed to cultivating an inclusive, accessible, and just environment that encourages dialogue and collaboration between exhibiting artists, students, faculty, the general public, and other cultural institutions by presenting interdisciplinary art exhibitions, artist talks, and other public programming.

We present diverse forms of contemporary art by professional artists with thought-provoking, relevant, and timely content. Our mission is to engender curiosity and a passion for contemporary art, enrich the quality of life for area residents, create a welcoming and inclusive cultural destination at Rowan University, and function as a resource for contemporary art throughout the region.

Rowan University Art Gallery & Museum is comprised of two key locations. The primary Gallery at 301 High Street West produces curated contemporary art exhibitions by professional artists with accompanying educational programming. The Center for Art and Social Engagement, located in Westby Hall, serves as a venue for investigating social issues through arts-based methods. Anchored by a permanent display of The Sister Chapel, a historic collaborative feminist installation, the Center draws inspiration from the cooperative spirit of the women’s art movement.
