New Jersey Theatre Alliance
New Jersey Theatre Alliance was founded in 1981 by five professional theatres on the belief that the theatre community is more robust, united, not divided, and that one theatre's success is a success for all. Today, they serve forty-four professional theatres in New Jersey and the region, representing fifteen of the state's twenty-one counties as well as Bucks County, PA, through various responsive and collaborative services such as marketing support, audience research, low-interest loans, and capacity-building technical assistance. In addition, they host the following programs:
The Cultural Access Network Project, established in 1992, is a program of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and New Jersey Theatre Alliance. The Project provides a wide range of services to assist theatres and cultural organizations in making their programs and facilities accessible to seniors and people with disabilities.
The Creating Change Network is a New Jersey Theatre Alliance program, in partnership with ArtPride New Jersey, that aims to build a more equitable, just, accessible, and anti-racist theatre and arts community.
The New Jersey Arts and Culture Administrators of Color is a network of professional arts administrators of color dedicated to advancing efforts related to equity, diversity, and inclusion within New Jersey's arts community. New Jersey Theatre Alliance hosts this initiative and is a partnership between the Alliance, ArtPride New Jersey, New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and Newark Symphony Hall.
The New Jersey Theatre Alliance Career Accelerator Program is a 6-month program that includes three 8-week placements; two with professional theatres and one with New Jersey Theatre Alliance to learn about theatre administration and management in real-world contexts. In addition to learning in the field, fellows will participate in professional development seminars, mentoring meetings, and check-ins with the Theatre Alliance Staff.
