Monmouth Symphony Orchestra
The Monmouth Symphony is a staple of the Greater Monmouth County area, presenting four concerts a season. The variety of music ranges from standard orchestral literature to contemporary, Broadway, and movie music, as well as music by female composers and composers of color. Family friendly concerts are included each season, with one featuring the Young Artist Concerto Competition winner. Support for young musicians also includes the yearly Michael H. Goldwasser Scholarship as well as inviting the most talented area high school string students to be members of the orchestra. Guest soloists with the MSO are top rated vocalists and instrumentalists, many of whom are well known local artists/educators. Performances are held at the St. Rose of Lima Chapel in Freehold Borough, with its excellent acoustics, ample parking and the bonus of dozens of nearby restaurants for that after concert dinner. Family First Passes are accepted at all performances.
