Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District
Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District, a nonprofit organization, is the realization of more than 20 years of dreams, ideas, and efforts by visionaries and community activists to foster and maintain the vibrancy of the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Newark, NJ. Lincoln plans to design and build a comprehensive arts and cultural district in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Newark, NJ.
LPCCD is an economically self-sufficient community that integrates its historic cultural assets, engaged residents, residential density, and visitor appeal to become a destination for community residents, visitors, and businesses. They seek to facilitate the integration of arts and culture amenities to advance local economic development, housing and neighborhood stability, and community engagement to support Lincoln Park's transformation into a healthy, safe, and vibrant area.
LPCCD's work centers on building affordable housing and cultivating civic leadership to ensure the delivery of resident and neighborhood services, activating neighborhood parks with year-round arts/cultural programming, and advancing economic development through entrepreneurship and creative industry job growth.
LPCCD is a strong community because of the people who live there. The organization has a legacy of investing in its residents and neighborhood through civic engagement and affordable housing. Lincoln Park provides training and resources so community members are informed and prepared to participate in the development of their community.
Since its inception, LPCCD has understood that providing residents with safe, quality, affordable housing provides the foundation for them to contribute to their community fully. To date, LPCCD has built over 100 units of affordable housing. They aim to work with the City of Newark, housing developers, and other community partners to create safe and affordable housing to expand the social-economic base of the area.
