Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey
Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey (CPNJ) is the professional orchestra of the Capital City. Attracting locally and nationally acclaimed musicians, CPNJ is in its Eleventh season and we have been able to successfully grow into an orchestra that brings high quality classical music to Trenton and engage the community in fantastic concerts that have become part of the vibrant fabric of Trenton's cultural community.
The mission of the Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey is to enhance the quality of life in the Greater Trenton area and to advance the city’s renaissance. CPNJ, a professional symphony orchestra, aspires to: change lives through its uplifting performances and audience education; ensure the continued vitality of the capital city’s classical music heritage; and contribute to the local economy by producing programs of orchestral masterworks in the Trenton War Memorial, one of New Jersey’s architectural treasures.
The Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey was founded in the fall of 2013 in a quest to make Trenton a proud, culturally integrated, musical beacon of renewal. We believe that Trenton deserves investments in cultural leadership for our children and seniors, our business community, our educators, and our civic entrepreneurs. We envision a thriving Capital City, rooted in the rich history, cultural contributions, and economic renaissance of Trenton.
