Share Your Love of Museums and Win Big with "Your Jersey Arts Museum Moment"
STATEWIDE: Governor Chris Christie has officially proclaimed October
2011 as "Discover Jersey Arts Month" in the Garden State. To
celebrate, JerseyArts.com has launched "Your Jersey Arts Museum
Moment," a program presented in partnership with fourteen New Jersey
museums inviting the public to share their love for their favorite
museum. One grand prize winner will receive a private party for
him-or-herself and twelve friends at the participating museum of their
choice. The public can enter at each of the participating museums or
share their story online at JerseyArts.com/museummoment.
2011 marks the fourth consecutive year in which October is declared "Discover Jersey Arts Month" by gubernatorial proclamation, and
program organizers wanted to take the opportunity to highlight New
Jersey's museum community. "We wanted to showcase New Jersey's fine and diverse collection of art and history museums this year," said Jim
Atkinson, Program Director of Discover Jersey Arts. "These fourteen
featured institutions represent a goldmine of educational, artistic,
and historic treasures that are sure to entertain and delight
attendees of all ages."
This year's featured museums include: Absecon Lighthouse (Atlantic
City), Barnegat Bay Decoy and Baymen's Museum (Tuckerton), Grounds For Sculpture (Hamilton), Hunterdon Art Museum (Clinton), Monmouth Museum
(Lincroft), Montclair Art Museum (Montclair), Morris Museum
(Morristown), Newark Museum (Newark), New Jersey State Museum
(Trenton), Noyes Museum of Art at Stockton College (Oceanville),
Perkins Center for the Arts (Moorestown), Riverfront Renaissance
Center for the Arts (Millville), Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center
(Millville), and the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers
University (New Brunswick).
