Transformations and Reflections: Chinese Paper Arts     Bookmark and Share
This exhibition in the Down Jersey Folklife Center at WheatonArts features the paper cuts, paper cut collage works & an installation created by the internationally celebrated Chinese artist, Xin Song. Many of her works are presented in both China & the US. Reflections on cultural heritage & challenges of present-day life; the search for new answers to old questions & new understandings of old wisdom intertwine in Song's exploration of cultural meanings, human values & universal connections. Reception Friday, October 12, at 5:30 p.m. Live demonstration by exhibiting artist Xin Song, along with a Chinese musical performance by Qin Qian on Erhu & Kurt Jung on Yangchin.
