Mona Brody
West Orange, NJ

Artwork Details
wax, oil, alkyd, charcoal
42” x 54”

Mona Brody's work is influenced by the object, given to her or found.  To her the object allows for a transference into self-reflection prompting personal imagery.  The result is a convergence of  observation, direct experience, and the expressive power of  the materials. Some of the materials Brody uses in her work include cradled panels and paper support charcoal, pencil, paint, transferred charcoal drawings, and wax.  The layered surfaces veil, obscure, and suggest what is not present.
