36" x 36"

Born in the Philippines, Medy Quiroz is an abstract painter currently residing in Red Bank, NJ. As a child, she exhibited artistic talent which she later explored as an adult through her studies at various institutions including the Fine Arts Department at George Washington University, the Guild of Creative Arts in Shrewsbury, New Jersey and the Shore Institute of Creative Arts in Monmouth County.

Of her work, Quiroz explains, “I have done representational art in oil, pastel, and watercolor but it is in abstract expressionism that I found my true calling. I love the freedom of Abstract Expressionism; freedom to use any color and create any shape, freedom from the boundaries of representational art. My paintings capture the excitement of colors, lines and shapes that represent nothing and everything. Each of my paintings has a story to tell and it’s up to you, the viewer, to discover it.”

Although Quiroz focuses primarily on abstract painting, she also delves into line art, wire sculptures and fine art photography. In addition, she recently completed training in metal cutting and welding at the Shore Institute of Creative Arts and eagerly anticipates adding metal sculpture to her diverse repertoire.

Her work has been accepted in juried art shows at the Monmouth County Arts Council, Monmouth Festival of the Arts, Art Alliance of Monmouth County, and the Guild of Creative Arts. In addition, she recently exhibited at Philippine Center in New York City and the Monmouth Beach Cultural Center in Monmouth County.
