Heidi Pollard has studied at both the University of Michigan: School of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, where she was a MFA candidate. She is the recipient of a 2002 Individual Artist Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

She states that, “I am interested in the meaning that arises from the overlap of optically received information with the images, smells, and sounds simultaneously brought to my mind by words. These explorations tend to result in paintings which are humorous, poignant and complex.”

Her work has been part of many exhibitions including the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, Harwood Art Center in Albuquerque, NM, Vox Populi in Philadelphia, and the Central Arts Collective in Tucson, AZ.  Pollard has received fellowships from the Ragdale Foundation and Ucross Foundation, as well as a residency from the Vermont Studio Center.
